SABRES RECALL O’REILLY, CATENACCI FROM ROCHESTER

BUFFALO, N.Y. (March 1, 2016) — The Buffalo Sabres announced the team has recalled forwards Daniel Catenacci and Cal O’Reilly from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Catenacci (5’9”, 191 lbs., 3/9/1993) will be joining the Sabres for his second career recall after playing in three games with the team earlier this season. The Richmond Hill, Ontario native has 20 points (9+11) in 41 games for the Amerks in 2015-16, including 10 points (3+7) in his last 10 games. In 187 career games for the Amerks, he has 72 points (35+37) and 127 penalty minutes.

O’Reilly (6’0”, 191 lbs., 9/30/1986) has appeared in five games for the Sabres this season, recording one assist and two penalty minutes. In 44 games with the Americans this season, O’Reilly has 28 points (6+22), and his 22 assists are tied for the team lead.

A fifth-round pick (150th overall) in the 2005 NHL Draft, O’Reilly has appeared in 118 NHL games in parts of five seasons with the Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, Phoenix Coyotes and Nashville Predators, logging 42 career points (13+29) and 14 penalty minutes.

In a corresponding move, the team has assigned forward Justin Bailey to Rochester.
