The Utica Comets and the American Hockey League have announced their 2015-16 regular season schedule. The third season of Comets hockey will begin with a Saturday night game in Rochester when they face the Americans on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Opening weekend in Utica will kick-off with a Western Conference Champions banner unveiling before a contest on Wednesday, Oct. 21 against the Rochester Americans at 7 p.m. It will continue with a Friday night affair against the Hershey Bears on Oct. 23 and a finish off on Saturday, Oct. 24 when the Comets kick-off their season series with arch rival Syracuse.

Utica will once again have a fan-friendly schedule with 26 of their 38 home games occurring on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The Comets move to the Eastern Conference will provide Comets fans with the opportunity to see all 14 teams in the Eastern Conference play against the Comets this season. The 2015-16 schedule will introduce seven new teams to The AUD, including the Hartford Wolf Pack (Rangers), Hershey Bears (Capitals), Lehigh Valley Phantoms (Flyers), Portland Pirates (Panthers), Providence Bruins (Bruins), St. John’s IceCaps (Canadiens), and the Springfield Falcons (Coyotes).

The growing rivalry with the Syracuse Crunch will reach a new level this season with 10 meetings between the two clubs. The new AHL division alignment will present the Comets will more games against their in-state rivals with eight games against the Rochester Americans, Albany Devils, and the Binghamton Senators.
