Islanders Name Lamoriello Director of Player Personnel

BROOKLYN (August 26, 2016) – The New York Islanders announced today that Chris Lamoriello has been named the team’s Director of Player Personnel.
“Chris brings a tremendous amount of knowledge to our organization,” Islanders President and General Manager Garth Snow said. “He has more than 20 years of experience in the industry and we are thrilled to have him on board.”

“I’m excited for the opportunity to work for such a storied franchise alongside a great management and ownership group,” Lamoriello said. “The Islanders have a great team and I’m looking forward to helping them continue their climb towards a championship.”

Lamoriello served as Sr. Vice President of Hockey Operations for the New Jersey Devils and General Manager of the Albany Devils from 2001-2015. He’s been a part of the Devils scouting staff since the start of the 1995-96 season, covering all levels of hockey throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. During his tenure with New Jersey, the team won two Stanley Cup Championships (2000, 2003).

A native of Providence, RI, Lamoriello graduated from Providence College in 1994 with a B.A. in history. He played both hockey and baseball at Providence.
