US Women vs Canada to be Televised

NBC Sports Network and Universal Sports Network to air four games USA-Canada games in December

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey today announced that NBC Sports Network and Universal Sports Network will air four games between the U.S. Women’s National Team and Canada in December. The games are part of Team USA’s preparation for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

The two games in the U.S. (Dec. 20 in Grand Forks, N.D., and Dec. 28 in St. Paul, Minn.), which are part of the “Bring on the World Tour,” will be presented on NBC Sports Network, and the two games in Canada (Dec. 12 in Calgary, Alberta, and Dec. 30 in Toronto, Ontario) will be aired on Universal Sports Network.

NBC Sports Live Extra, NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices and tablets, will stream both games in the United States airing on NBCSN via “TV Everywhere,” the media industry’s effort to make quality content available to authenticated customers both in and out of the home and on multiple platforms.

Universal Sports will also live stream the Dec. 12 and Dec. 30 events on UniversalSports.com and via the Universal Sports Live App for iPad tablets.

NOTES: The final 2014 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team, which will include 18 forwards/defensemen and three goaltenders, will be announced on Jan. 1, 2014, at the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic in Ann Arbor, Mich. The 2014 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team is under the direction of Reagan Carey (Colorado Springs, Colo.), director of women’s hockey for USA Hockey … Katey Stone (Arlington, Mass.) was named head coach of the 2014 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team on June 8, 2012 … USA Hockey’s international council, chaired by Gavin Regan, vice president of USA Hockey, has oversight responsibilities for all U.S. National Teams … The 2014 Olympic Winter Games will take place Feb. 7-23, 2014, in Sochi, Russia.
