After a one year hiatus the UNYCHL appears ready to go and stronger than ever. 22 schools (2 probationary) have their sights set on this upcoming season.

Several outside the league features this year include a showcase tournament in October in Binghamton and a series between schools in Florida coming to WNY in November.

For now let’s preview the league:

The WEST division: St Bonaventure, Fredonia, Alfred State, Buffalo State, Canisius College II, Penn State Behrend

The METRO division: Erie Community College, University at Buffalo II, Niagara University II, Brockport, Hobart, Rochester

The CENTRAL division: Binghamton, Cornell, Cortland, Ithaca

The EAST division: Hamilton, Union, Albany, LeMoyne

Colgate and Paul Smiths College enter as probationary members who will have eligibility for regionals.

The West/Metro play head to head within the division (10 games) with the top3 advancing to playoffs.

The Central/East play within their division along with crossover games totaling 10. The top 2 in each advance to the postseason.

In the lower tier Niagara Community College looks to defend its title against Medaille, Geneseo, St John Fisher, Gannon University and Mercyhurst.

We all just hope for a safe successful season.
