|Defender Anna Wilgren Added To Residency Roster|
|COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – The U.S. Women’s National Team will formally begin preparations for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games on Oct. 5 at the Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota, as its residency program commences. A total of 28 players will live and train in Blaine in the lead up to the Games, which begin Feb. 3 in Beijing, China. |
In addition to training, the U.S. will play a number of games and scrimmages to assist in Olympic preparations, including international competitions part of the My Why Tour, presented by Toyota, which kicks off later this month with matchups against Canada in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 22, and Hartford, Connecticut, on Oct. 25. Additional games will be announced in the coming weeks.
WILGREN ADDED TO ROSTER Anna Wilgren (Hudson, Wis.) has been added to the U.S. Women’s National Team residency roster. She has played three seasons at Minnesota State University, Mankato, including last year when she served as the Mavericks’ captain.
A stalwart on the blue line for Minnesota State, Wilgren was named to the All-WCHA Third Team during her sophomore campaign and garnered WCHA All-Rookie Team honors as a freshman. She played high school hockey at Hudson High School and finished as the program’s all-time leading point getter.
Wilgren also played for the Madison Capitols U19 team.
