BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres announced plans for the inaugural Sabres Skills Challenge on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at KeyBank Center. Current Sabres players will be divided into two teams to compete against each other in an All-Star style skills contest in an event designed for fans of all ages.

The teams will participate in five different competitions:

Hardest Shot presented by Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort
Accuracy Showdown presented by KeyBank
Puck Control Relay presented by BlueCross BlueShield of WNY
Power Play Challenge presented by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center
Shootout Challenge

“We’re all pretty competitive, so this will be a good opportunity for us to face off against each other,” Sabres captain Jack Eichel said. “We’ve got some of the best fans in the league, and we’re looking forward to putting on a show for them.”

Players will be dressed in custom Sabres jerseys that will be auctioned off after the event at Sabres.com/Auctions. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.

Prior to the start of the Skills Challenge, the Sabres will be hosting an autograph session presented by MSG Networks beginning at 11 a.m. featuring Sabres alumni including Danny Gare, Dominik Hasek, Gilbert Perreault, Rene Robert and many more. Fans will be given a ticket to one autograph table, to which alumni will be assigned randomly. There will be a 200-ticket limit per table and autographs will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. for the autograph session.

Tickets will be available for $10 and can be purchased starting Friday, Dec. 7 at Sabres.com/SkillsChallenge. My One Buffalo mobile app members will receive a presale notification on Thursday, Dec. 6 offering the chance to buy tickets before they’re available to the general public.

Sabres season ticket holders will receive an email with a presale code granting the first opportunity to purchase tickets beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at a discounted rate of $5. All proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.

Select concessions can be purchased at a discounted price and free parking will be available at the KeyBank Center Ramp and at the surface lot on Perry Street between Mississippi and Columbia streets.
