OSWEGO, N.Y. – This upcoming weekend (January 30-31), the Oswego State women’s ice hockey team will be promoting its “Pink in the Rink Weekend” as it takes on conference foe Buffalo State in a two-game home series. Friday’s puck drop will be at 7 p.m. while Saturday’s game will begin at 3 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to come out and cheer on the team while sporting pink to support the fight against breast cancer. Admission for both contests will be free with the team asking for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society (ACS) instead. T-shirts will also be on sale, with all profits going to the ACS.

Saturday’s game will include a pre-game puck drop, featuring Oswego State’s Karly Babcock, who works with the school’s Colleges Against Cancer organization, and Randi Matousek, a breast cancer survivor. Also, between the second and third periods on Saturday, participants of the Girl Power Tournament will be taking part in a Spirit Skate, where each of the teams will be showcased.

The ninth-ranked women’s ice hockey team is currently 11-4-1 on the season and 7-3-1 in the ECAC West.
