Lady Islanders Pink The Rink

The Lady Islanders will Pink the Rink October 27 and 28 at the Dix Hills Rink. Proceeds from the weekend will go to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.

The weekend will feature the Lady Islanders 10U, 12U, 14U and 19U teams playing against teams from the Brewster Bulldogs and Westchester Wild.

The Lady Islander’s 14Us are hosting a min-tournament with a championship game on Sunday. The other contests will be played in the regular format. In addition to the games, the Ladies will hold a Chinese auction, raffles and will provide an information table with the last questions and answers on breast cancer provided.

The Lady Islanders are being joined by the Long Island Rebels and the Junior Royals in their event. The teams share the Rink with the Islanders. The Rebels will be sporting pink tape on their sticks and pink laces on their skates and have donated ice time to the Islanders. The Junior Royals will also wear pink for their home game on Saturday at 8 p.m. and their gate proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society as well.

Also during the Royals game, the younger Lady Islanders will hold a shootout between the first and second periods. There will also be drawings at that game.

Along with the Pink the Rink, the Lady Islanders will be kicking off their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive that benefits the Long Island Cares. In addition the Huntington Youth Council, along with Councilwoman Susan Berland, will be holding a Skate Swap, Sunday, Oct. 28, from Noon to 2 p.m.

The public is encouraged to support these events and come out and see some great hockey.

Saturday beginning at 8:55 a.m. it’s the Long Island 14U vs Brewster

10:35 a.m. Long Island 10U vs New Jersey Rockets

2 p.m. Quarry Cats vs Brewster (14U)

5 p.m. Long Island 19U vs Westchester Wild

6:50 pm Long Island 14U vs Quarry Cats

8 p.m. Junior Royals Game

 

Sunday

8:25 a.m. Long Islandd 10U vs Brewster

9:15 a.m. Long Island 14U second place vs third place

10:05 a.m. Long Island 12 U vs Brewster

11:45 a.m. Long Island 19U vs Westchester Wild

5:25 p.m. 14U Championship game
