BUFFALO – The Buffalo Beauts announced today that alternate captain and PHF All-Star defender Dominique Kremer has re-signed with the team. This is a 2-year deal which brings one of the most integral members of the team back for both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 PHF seasons.

“Buffalo is a home away from home for me,” said Kremer. “I love everyone in the organization, and I am happiest when I am with my fellow Beauts. There is no other team I would rather play for.”

The 2021-22 season was a breakout campaign for Kremer. It saw her be named an alternate captain for the Beauts while proceeding to lead the entire PHF in goals by a defender and finishing tied for second on the team in points (6-5-11) in only her second PHF season. Those same 11 points placed Kremer at fifth-most among blueliners in the entire league. Her six goals also tied a Beauts’ franchise record for most goals in a season by a defender.

“Dom really took her game to another level this past season,” said Beauts GM Nate Oliver. “We knew that she was capable of this type of performance when she first joined our team two seasons ago.

That’s why it was so imperative to bring her back into the fold. I think she is one of the best defenders in the game today, and I don’t believe she gets enough credit throughout the hockey world as to how good she truly is. We are very fortunate that Dom is a Beaut for not one but two more seasons. It is very exciting to see the story of her career unfold and the best is still yet to come.”

The 5-foot-6 right defender turns 25 years old on June 9. Originally drafted by the Connecticut Whale (fourth round, 17th overall) in 2018, Kremer has played her entire PHF career in a Beauts uniform going 6-5-11 in 26 regular-season games. She began her professional career in Sweden’s SDHL for Djurgårdens IF in 2019-20. Kremer led all Djurgårdens defenders in points, with 16 on five goals and 11 assists that season. At the collegiate level, she scored 15 goals, 41 assists, and 56 points in 138 NCAA games for Merrimack College.

Kremer is determined to turn the Beauts into a winning hockey club in 2022-23.

“Buffalo absolutely has unfinished business to attend to,” she said. “I look at last season as a solid foundation for us to build off of and use as sort of a chip on our shoulder. I am hoping to help shift the perspective this upcoming season into a complete winning mindset on and off the ice.”
