    An important night for WNYGVIH as the League moves towards their playoffs to determine who goes to the NYS Championship at Harborcenter in early February.

    It took ten minutes but FLOP scored first with a goal by Kathleen Doughtery. LID answered back when Jersey Phillips scored and ended the first period tied at one.

    LID opened the scoring in the second just over two minutes in with a goal by Hailey Keppner. Two more by FLOP put the score 3-2 at the end of two.

    It was anyone’s game but in the end Brooke Becker secured FLOP’s victory with goal in the third period.

    In goal for FLOP, Tori Cottrell turned aay 27 of 29 SOG and LID’s Dylan Gorski stopped 21 of 25.

    Janet has been covering women's hockey for over 35 years. Along with a 38 year career in Public Relations and over 40 years photographing sports, she found a passion in women's hockey. Her initial story was on the founding of the Niagara University D1 program, she expanded to collegiate and youth and was active in the founding and promoting of the WNY Girls Varsity Ice Hockey Federation.
