Derraugh Named Ivy League Coach of the Year; 5 players Tabbed All-Ivy League

ITHACA, N.Y. – Six members of the Cornell women’s hockey program including Doug Derraugh received all-Ivy League distinctions, the league office announced in a release Wednesday afternoon.

After leading his team to a mark of 20-3-6 in the regular season and to 7-2-1 against Ivy opponent, Derraugh was unanimously voted the Ivy League Coach of the Year.

Five players made up the all-Ivy teams with Kristin O’Neill and Jaime Bourbonnais garnering first team selections, while Maddie Mills, Micah Zandee-Hart and Marlène Boissonnault secured spots on the second team.

O’Neill is the team’s leader in goals this season with 22. Her average of .76 goals per game ranks fourth in the nation. The Oakville, Ontario, native is second on the team in total points with 35. O’Neill has received all-Ivy recognition all three years she has been a member of the program and this marks the second consecutive year that O’Neill has landed a spot on the first team.

Bourbonnais joins Princeton’s Sarah Fillier as one of two unanimous first team selections. The junior from Mississauga, Ontario, is second in the nation amongst defensemen in points per game with an average of 1.04. Bourbonnais is also fourth in the nation in both assists per game (.71) and goals per game (.32). This marks the second straight year that she has landed a spot on the first team after she received honorable mention her freshman year.

The reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Year, Mills leads the team in points (37) and assists (21). Mills has been a force on the power play this year with 16 of her 37 points this season coming on the penalty. The sophomore is has notched a team-leading seven power play goals and has added nine assists on the power play. A sophomore, Mills has received all-Ivy recognition both seasons she’s been at Cornell.

Zandee-Hart is the second-leading defenseman scorer on the team with 19 points on three goals and 16 assists. The Saanichton, British Columbia, native had her top performance of the season against Brown when she had a career-high three assists. This marks Zandee-Hart’s third time receiving all-Ivy recognition.

Boissonnault is second in the nation with a goals against average of 1.61. The senior goaltender has posted a record of 19-4-4 in net this season. Boissonnault climbed her way up. the Big Red’s record books this season and now ranks second all-time on the program’s wins list with 55. This is the third straight season that Boissonnault has earned all-Ivy distinctions
