Conacher Named to All Atlantic Anniversary Team

One of the best to wear the Blue and Gold has now been recognized as one of the best in Atlantic Hockey history. Former Canisius College hockey standoutCory Conacher ’11 was named to the All-Atlantic Hockey 10th-Anniversary First Team, announced by the league on Thursday night.

 

In his four-year standout career with the Griffs, Conacher set or matched 12 career, single-season and single-game records. The 2009-10 Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year owns the program’s standards of 147 points, 62 goals and 12 game-winning tallies. He also set the school’s records with 53 points and 33 assists during his junior campaign, while breaking the goals mark with 23 in his senior year.

 

Conacher was also selected to the all-conference team on two occasions during his career, earning first-team honors during the 2009-10 campaign and second-team accolades the next season.

 

Following his graduation, Conacher continued to his excel at the next level. He earned AHL MVP and Rookie of the Year honors during the 2011-12 campaign, while leading the Norfolk Admirals to the Calder Cup. This season, he became the first Atlantic Hockey player to score a goal in the NHL and has totaled 22 points, eight goals and 14 assists in 30 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

 

Conacher was joined on the All-Anniversary First Team by forwards Eric Ehn and Jacques Lamoureux of Air Force, defenders Tim Kirby of Air Force and Dan Ringwald of RIT and goalie Andrew Volkening of Air Force.
