Colgate Men’s Hockey Announces Class of 2019

HAMILTON – Head coach Don Vaughan and the men’s hockey program have announced the incoming Colgate Class of 2019, which features five newcomers.

The class includes two players from both the United States and Canada. The Raiders are also welcoming an international player from Slovakia.

“We are excited to welcome these five outstanding student-athletes to the Colgate Hockey program,” said Vaughan. “I want to thank my staff, especially Mike Harder ’97, for their hard work in identifying and helping bring these young men to Colgate.

“These three defensemen and two forwards bring with them tremendous work ethic, character and specific skill sets that fit perfectly into our culture and style of play. We are looking forward to getting them on campus in August and welcoming them into the Colgate Hockey Family.”

Willie Brooks | 6 | D | 6-0 | 200 | Long Branch, N.J. | Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL)

Before Colgate: Third-Team All-CCHL selection … Appeared in 62 regular season games for the Canadians, tallying 36 points on eight goals and 28 assists … Chipped in four assists in eight playoff games … Helped lead Carleton Place to Bogart Cup and Fred Page Cup titles and finalist finish in RBC Cup … Spent 2013-14 campaign with Fairbanks Ice Dogs in the NAHL … Notched eight assists in 28 games played … Helped lead squad to Robinson Cup Championship … Attended Salisbury School … Also played lacrosse and soccer while at Salisbury.

Personal: William Turck Stuyvesant Brooks is the son of Doug and Leslie Brooks … Born in Locust, N.J.

Ken Citron | 3 | D | 6-1 | 205 | Cos Cob, Conn. | Vernon Vipers (BCHL)

Before Colgate: Played two seasons for Vernon, appearing in 131 games and finishing with 4 goals and 25 assists … Served as alternate captain of the Vipers for 2014-15 … Notched three goals and 17 assists for 20 points in 63 games played during final season in Vernon … Helped lead Vipers to BCHL Interior Division Championship and semi finalist finish in RBC Cup in 2013-14 … Prior to joining Vernon, spent three seasons at The Lawrenceville School in the Mid-Atlantic Prep Hockey League … Served as team captain of Lawrenceville School squad for 2011-12 season.

Personal: Kenneth Citron is the son of Ken and Marla Citron … Has one brother and one sister … Sister, Carly, is a member of Class of ’16 at Colgate … Received High Honors for academics at Lawrenceville … Served as 197th president of Hamill House while at Lawrenceville.

Adam Dauda | 12 | F | 6-0 | 195 | Bratislava, Slovakia | Pembroke Lumber Kings (CCHL)

Before Colgate: Spent 2014-15 season with Pembroke Lumber Kings … Tallied 67 points on 29 goals and 38 assists in 50 regular season contests … Added nine points on three goals and six assists during playoffs, helping Lumber Kings advance to Bogart Cup Final … Served as alternate captain with the Lumber Kings … Named to CCHL All-Star team … Prior to Pembroke, spent two seasons in GOJHL … Split time between Elmira Sugar Kings and Cambridge Winter Hawks … Finished with 81 points (32 G/49 A) in 92 GOJHL games.

Personal: Adam Dauda is the son of Pavol and Martina Dauda … Born in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Rory McGuire | 13 | D | 6-1 | 195 | Bracebridge, Ont. | Kingston Voyageurs (OJHL)

Before Colgate: Played 52 games for the Voyageurs in 2014-15, notching 23 points on three goals and 20 assists … Named to OJHL All-Star squad … Spent 2013-14 campaign with Victoria Grizzlies of BCHL … Tallied 17 points (3 G/14 A) in 55 regular season contests … Added nine points (1 G/8 A) in 16 playoff games … Played two seasons at St. Andrew’s College … Served as team captain of the Saints for the 2012-13 season … Helped squad capture 2012-13 MPHL and CISAA titles … Named CISAA and MPHL All-Star squads.

Personal: Rory McGuire is the son of Dan and Kim McGuire … Has one brother and one sister.

Hunter Racine | 28 | F | 5-10 | 192 | Ottawa, Ontario | Hawkesbury Hawks (CCHL)

Before Colgate: Spent 2014-15 campaign with Hawkesbury Hawks … Finished with 70 points on 28 goals and 42 assists in 58 regular season games … Third-Team CCHL All-Star selection … Served as team captain for 2014-15 season … Played two seasons for Ottawa Jr. Senators (2012-14) … Notched 88 points (43 G/45 A) in 92 games played for Jr. Sens.

Personal: Hunter Racine is the son of Scott and Lisa Racine … Has one sister … Uncle, Bruce Racine, was a two-time All-American goaltender at Northeastern and played professional hockey for 16 seasons … Grandfather, Maurice Racine, played the CFL for the Ottawa Rough Riders and was induced into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
