The well-deserved honors just keep coming in for Loren Gabel, Clarkson University’s Women’s Hockey All-Star forward.

For the second time this season, the senior left wing was honored as ECAC Hockey Player of the Month.

Gabel led the nation in scoring for the opening month of 2019 with 11 goals and 17 points in eight games, including a league-high 15 points (9-6) in six conference games, and posted a +11 rating.

The Kitchener, Ont. native tallied a Division I high three game-winners and notched her sixth career hat trick with three goals in win over Union (/12). She figured in on all the Clarkson scoring in the 4-2 victory over Harvard this past Friday with two goals and two assists. Her 100th career goal, which was the game-winner against the Crimson, was featured on ESPN’s Top 10 Plays for January 25 as number 5.

Gabel established new career scoring marks at Clarkson during the month, becoming the Golden Knights’ all-time leading scorer with 193 points, including 101 goals. Along with the league’s Player of the Month honors, she earned ECAC Player of the Week (1/28), NCAA 1st Star (1/29) and NCAA 2nd Star (1/22) accolades.

She has played a leading role in helping two-time defending National Champion Clarkson on a nation-best current six-game winning streak.
