Ciampini Named To CHN, USCHO Postseason Teams

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The postseason honors continue to pour in for Union College senior forward Daniel Ciampini.

Ciampini, who was recently tabbed an AHCA/CCM East All-American, has been named to the All-College Hockey News First Team and to the All-USCHO Second Team.

Ciampini compiled 26 goals and 24 assists for 50 points in 39 games to earn All-ECAC Hockey First Team accolades. He tied Union’s single-season points record and registered the second-most goals in a season. Ciampini ranked in the top 10 in four NCAA statistical categories – third in goals (0.67 gpg) and power play goals (0.23 gpg); ninth in scoring (1.28 ppg) and game-winning goals (5) He shared the team scoring title with Mike Vecchione while leading the Dutchmen in shots (126), plus/minus rating (+21), power play goals (9) and game-winning goals (5).

Ciampini’s season highlights included a seven-game goal-scoring streak, two hat tricks and a national player of the month selection in January. He tied a school game record with a six-point effort (three goals, three assists) against Rensselaer at the Mayor’s Cup, and scored a dramatic game-winning goal with 1:43 left in regulation against Sacred Heart.

The Concord, Ontario native finished his career ranking second in goals (63) and fifth in points (118) on Union’s Division I charts.

Ciampini signed an AHL contract with the Worcester Sharks in March.
