Maksymum Defeats Buffalo Stars 4-2 In Opener

The Makysmum Hockey beat the Buffalo Stars in the Empire Junior Hockey League 4-2 on Thursday night at The Sports Center at Monroe Community College.

Buffalo’s Tyler States opened the scoring at 4:33 assisted by John Colvin. Maksymum’s Seth Giles answered back followed by Rochester’s second goal by Dylan Versage. Assists came from Michael Whitehair and Kevin DiMagno on the first; Greg Miller and Cameron Cook on the second.

Eight minutes into the second period Maksymum’s Cook put one in the net, assisted by Miller. It was then Buffalo’s Patrick Schmelzinger turn to score, assisted by Logan Conboy.

In the final period Makysum’s Versage scored on a power-play goal assisted by Kevin Geeza.

Buffalo had 28 shots on goal and Maksymum, 72. In goal for Buffalo was Thomas Brown, for Rochester, Jake Bryniarski.
