ROCHESTER, NY — Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex, the area’s largest driver of sports-related economic impact, will take a major step toward energy sustainability with a full overhaul of their lighting system. They will be installing state of the art intelligent lighting systems produced by Noribachi and Encelium.

In partnership with Jacomb Lighting (Pittsford, NY), installation will begin immediately and is scheduled to be completed by December 15th. This lighting initiative is part of a multi-phase improvement plan that has been underway at the sports facility since April of 2013.

“Our team is committed to providing a world-class experience to the more than 1.6 million people that visit our facility each calendar year,” said Chris Woodworth, General Manager of Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex. “This state of the art lighting technology will not only significantly lessen our imprint on the environment, but will also drastically improve our customer’s experience.”

“JACOMB Lighting is honored and excited to be working with the team at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex on their LED “Green Lighting and Controls” energy and carbon footprint reduction project,” said Bill Gauthier, Owner of JACOMB Lighting. “This project will allow them the increase light levels significantly while reducing their lighting energy consumption by over 50% throughout their facility.”

The project by the numbers:
Project scope will include the replacement of 213 light fixtures and the installation of 1345 LED light bulbs, in all ice rinks, common areas, offices, parking lot and building exterior
Installation of an Encelium Intelligent wireless dimming system on Rinks 1, 2 and 3
Installation of a Noribachi wireless DMX RGBW lighting control system, which will allow for color changing lights and patterns
