ROCHESTER NY – The Rochester Americans announced that they will be hosting their only local pre-season game at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex on September 25th.  The Amerks will be taking on the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 7:05pm game in the feature arena at the Iceplex.

General Admission tickets to the game are available for only $5.00 and can be purchased at the Customer Service desk inside the Iceplex, or at the Amerks Main Office located at the Blue Cross Arena.  Doors open for the preseason game at 6pm.

“The Amerks are excited to begin the 2013-14 AHL season with a preseason game against the Penguins at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex,” said Amerks Vice President of Business Operations Rob Kopacz.  “Our annual preseason game at this facility has come to represent the start of hockey season each year, and we are excited to get the season started.”

“We are very excited to host the Amerks at the Iceplex for what has turned into a fun annual event for fans,” said Chris Woodworth, Director of Programming at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex.  “This is the first game we have hosted since our new management team has been in place, so we are excited to show off many of the improvements to our facility while creating a fun atmosphere for the loyal Amerks fans here in Rochester.”
