BUFFALO – The Buffalo Beauts announced that two more players have been added to their 2021-22 roster. Forward-defender Brittany Colton has re-signed with the team, while Buffalo also inked former Metropolitan Riveters defender Samantha Fieseler.  Colton and Fieseler are the 13th and 14th players respectively to be signed by the Beauts this offseason.

“Britt is a tremendous role player for us and always has a smile on her face,” said Beauts General Manager Nate Oliver. “She can play either forward or defense, which is a great option for us to have. While Britt’s strengths are more on the defensive side, she can play on the topmost line like she did at Maine if called upon to do so.”

“Likewise, we really wanted to add further depth to our blue line and that is why we brought in Sam Fieseler. Sam was at our free agent tryouts and she literally earned herself a spot onto the Beauts roster with a strong showing. She has good professional experience already with Göteborg and the Rivs.”

A native of Groton, Massachusetts, Colton was a late addition to the Beauts 2020-21 roster. She played in all six of Buffalo’s games in Lake Placid. Prior to beginning her professional career, Colton played for the University of Maine Black Bears from 2016-17 through 2019-20. Her first two seasons at Maine saw her play defense, until she was moved to the top forward line as a right wing to play alongside Michelle Weis and Tereza Vanišová. In 133 NCAA games, Colton went 9-18-27 in scoring.

Fieseler was a member of the Metropolitan Riveters in 2020-21 but was not in Lake Placid for the NWHL’s Season 6. In 2019-20 she played in the SDHL for Göteborg HC, appearing in 30 games and tallying a goal and three assists. Fieseler played for Mercyhurst University during her collegiate career, and was teammates with Beauts captain Taylor Accursi. She scored 15 goals, 23 assists and 38 points in 138 NCAA games. In international competition, Fieseler earned a gold medal with Team Canada’s Women’s U18 squad at the 2014 Women’s U18 World Championship in Budapest, Hungary.

“The Beauts are excited to sign both Britt and Sam,” said head coach Rhea Coad. “Both are eager to make our organization better both on and off the ice. We are excited to have their ability on our blue line and up front.”
