B-Sens Ink Four Skaters For Next Season Including a NY Native

BINGHAMTON, NY – The Binghamton Senators, who will begin their 14th season as the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators this October, announce they have signed forwards Matthew Zay, Alex Wideman and Daultan Leveille in addition to defenseman Guillaume Lepine to American Hockey League contracts for the 2015-16 season.

Zay, 24, appeared in four games with the B-Sens to close out the regular season recording one goal and seven penalty minutes. A native of Glendale, New York, Zay finished his senior season at Mercyhurst College with 32 points (12 goals, 20 assists) in 39 games played. In four years with Mercyhurst, Zay accumulated 125 points (47 goals, 78 assists) along with 131 penalty minutes in 151 games played.

Wideman, 23, also appeared in four games with the B-Sens at the end of the season following the conclusion of his collegiate career at the University of Miami at Ohio. In four games with Binghamton, the native of St. Louis, Missouri, was held scoreless with a plus-2 on ice rating. In 140 games with the Redhawks, the 5-7, 150 pound forward amassed 24 goals and 32 assists for 56 points.

Leveille, 24, was originally drafted in the first round (29th overall) by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2008 NHL Entry Level Draft. The St. Catharines, ON, native played four years of collegiate hockey with Michigan State University where he totaled 26 goals and 69 total points in 131 games played. Most recently, Leveille played the 2014-15 season with Rouen in France where he scored 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) in 26 games played.

Lepine, 28, returns to Binghamton after playing in the club’s final 38 games of the 2014-15 regular season where he recorded a goal and four assists along with 107 penalty minutes. Prior to joining the B-Sens, Lepine, a native of Montreal, played 35 games with the team’s East Coast Hockey League affiliate, the Evansville Icemen.
