The Hobart College hockey team will welcome back former Statesmen for this year’s alumni weekend, during its opening weekend. The Statesmen host Babson for two non-conference games Oct. 29 and 30 to begin the 2016-17 season.
On Friday night, the Statesmen, who are ranked No. 6 in both the USCHO and D3hockey.com preseason polls, will face the Beavers at 7 p.m. in The Cooler. Following the game, alums are invited to gather at Eddie O’Briens. Saturday begins with the annual alumni game at 11:15 a.m. in The Cooler. The current Statesmen then take on Babson again at 4 p.m. Alums are once again encouraged to get together at Eddie O’Briens following the game.

The Statesmen return 22 players from last year’s team that finished 2015-16 with a 21-5-2 overall record, a 12-3-0 mark in the ECAC West and its second straight ECAC West tournament title. Hobart advanced to the NCAA tournament for the sixth time in program history.
