BROOKLYN – The New York Islanders announced that forward Eric Boulton has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract.

Boulton, 39, appeared in six games with the Islanders last season. It was the Halifax, NS, native’s fourth season with the Islanders and 15th NHL campaign.
In 654 career NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, Atlanta Thrashers, New Jersey Devils and the Islanders, Boulton has 79 points (31 goals, 48 assists). He’s also appeared in four career Stanley Cup Playoff games, all with the Thrashers.

The New York Rangers selected Boulton in the ninth round, 234th overall, of the 1994 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Boulton, a 6’0, 227-pound forward, has appeared in 133 career American Hockey League games and 171 ECHL games. He made his professional debut in the 1996-97 season after completing a three-year junior career in the Ontario Hockey League, split between the Oshawa Generals and the Sarnia Sting.
